Meeting Leader (Emcee): The Meeting Leader conducts the meeting, makes sure everyone is aware of their roles, can create a theme for the meeting, and contacts those who have roles in the meeting.
Meeting Evaluator: The Meeting Evaluator assigns evaluators for each of the prepared speeches, 2-3 minutes each. Each provides positive, constructive feedback based on what lesson the speaker is working on.
Grammarian: The grammarian helps meeting participants improve their vocabulary and notes particularly strong or weak use of the English language. Attendees are encouraged to find a way to use the word of the day.
Timer: The Timer ensures the speakers are keeping within time constraints by showing green (met time), yellow (close to time), and red (time's up) indicators.
Table Topics Leader: The Table Topics Leader gives people practice in impromptu speaking by posing a topic to each participant, 1-2 minutes each. Topics should be in good taste. The objective is to practice speaking without preparation.
Rexburg Speakers Club originated in 2016 as Upper Valley Toastmasters, a local club affiliated with Toastmasters International.

I grew up in Montana and love to read, garden, and cook. I enjoy my chickens and quail. I work at the BYU-Idaho University Bookstore, and help students all over the world with their education. Toastmasters is a fun and uplifting way to increase my communication and leadership skills, and expand my circle of friends!

Eric calls Teton Valley, Idaho home, where he and his wife Marya have raised five fantastic children. Mountain dirt trails under foot, gentle rolling water under a kayak, and reading books to curious children are his hobbies. Leadership roles in the LDS church, and the desire to inspire, sparked the interest in Toastmasters. As owner of appreciationteam.com he educates on the real economic advantages and joy-filled value of harnessing authentic appreciation as part of standard operating procedures in the work place. He strives to embody the words of Winston Churchill, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
